Welcome to a world of enriching weekly themes designed to cater to the diverse needs of your students. As an occupational therapist, I understand the importance of tailoring activities to various skills and developmental levels. Dive into a wealth of activities and printables, for a Winter snowman theme, allowing you to address occupational therapy goals seamlessly.

In this post, you’ll find a comprehensive set of activities and worksheets spanning sensory, social-emotional learning, visual perception, fine motor, and gross motor skills. These resources are timeless, with master PDFs and snowman-theme-related materials stored in 2-gallon zip lock bags to keep everything organized in a plastic bin you will save hours of prep time year after year.

These occupational therapy activities seamlessly align with preschool or kindergarten classroom themes. Explore Amazon, Oriental Trading, and local dollar stores for theme-related supplies, and access free labels for your bins in the Free Resource Library.

crazy snow storm

Winter can bring a ton of snow and be a great time to use snowman resources. (The picture above is from one storm in December of 2020 at my house)

Delve into a snowman-themed extravaganza, featuring activities like the Snowball Floof with a Build a Snowman set for sensory engagement. Explore worksheet and activities encompassing writing, social-emotional learning, visual perception, and drawing activities related to snowmen. There are many build a snowman sets but I love that Floor does not have a scent.

Engage in writing exercises such as Winter snowman sequencing story events, scrambled sentences, scoot, and roll a story activities. Foster social-emotional learning through activities like Snowman Emotions Bingo, and sharpen visual perception with draw a snowman, word searches, and digital Boom Cards.

I also use no prep Boom cards and digital spinners. I added a free digital spinner to the Free Resource Library and you can check out the Build a Snowman Boom Cards on Boom or in my TpT Store.

Embrace gross motor activities, encouraging students to dress up as snowmen or participate in outdoor snowman building. Explore games, snowman spinners, and interactive snowball fights with white shower puffs. For fine motor skills, discover sorting stickers, sorting white buttons, building sticker snowmen, scratch art snowmen, and snowman eraser sorting with tweezers.

Elevate executive function, scissor skills, and direction following with a selection of favorite snowman crafts. These ideas are crafted to seamlessly integrate into your Winter/Snowman classroom or therapy weekly themes. Explore, engage, and empower your learning environment with these innovative activities.

I hope you were able to find a few ideas for your Winter/Snowman classroom or therapy weekly themes.

The Importance of Social-Emotional Learning in Schools

Social-emotional learning (SEL) is an essential component of education today. Many students face challenges managing their emotions, handling stress, and using effective coping strategies, which can impact their ability to focus, participate, and learn effectively. SEL equips students with the tools they need to understand their emotions, build positive relationships, and develop empathy—all of which are critical for their success in both school and life. Students who feel safe, regulated, and have positive connections with their teachers are more prepared to learn in school.
