As someone who loves planning weekly themes, I understand the importance of incorporating activities that align with occupational therapy goals. In this post, discover how foundation skills can be developed through engaging and fun-filled approaches.

One key focus is on fine motor skills, scissor use, and planning abilities achieved through creative crafts. Starting with the end in mind, I aim to improve students’ executive function skills by involving them in the planning process. Together, we discuss the steps and materials needed for each project. Providing a model, I encourage students to articulate the materials and tools required, fostering independent thinking and planning.

Join me in this Easter-themed adventure, where learning is not only effective but also a joyous experience. Unleash the potential of these activities to make skill development exciting and engaging for your students.

My students love my write the room activities, they love hunting around to find the pictures. You will find one for Easter in my Free Resource Library. For added fun around Easter instead of hanging them around the room I hind them in plastic eggs. I also hide exercises for them to complete. This incorporates both writing practice and a motor break.

I love stickers and other quick activities related to whatever theme I am doing. Not only do I love seasonal window clings for the fine motor aspect the ones with words can be used for a fun writing activity. Students manipulate the letters on a whiteboard to create and write as many new words as they can. My students love sorting beads or stickers by design, creating fun creatures, scratching a beautiful egg and more. Each year I add something new to my collection.
